I got an old joystick that was custom built for use in a flight simulator, I am trying to rewire and refurbish it to a working condition. Mostly this will be rewiring the buttons, but the nav buttons may be interesting in how they have to be wired. It’ll also be interesting to calibrate the x and y-axis movements using the built in potentiometers. The whole joystick is custom built and milled nicely.
End result is hopefully a rewired joystick that has all the working buttons and inputs. I hope to hook it up to an Arduino or a Raspberry Pi and use it for input/output on some future vehicle projects.
I also added this project to Hackaday.io: https://hackaday.io/project/8950-flight-simulator-joystick-refurb
