I had surgery on the 11th and spent a week in the hospital, hence why no updates the last two weeks. I’m home now and my activity has been minimal due to recovery, but I did spend some time this week with a new GPS module working on setting up a NTP time server to use that GPS module.
Of course the documentation isn’t too great but I got the correct pinouts wired up so that at least I’m talking to the chip. I’m likely going to need to move it to an outdoor location in order to get some actual GPS data off of it, so that’ll be the likely next steps. Then from there it’s configuring NTP to use it and there is a pinout on the chip for using it as a hardware clock interrupt which is the feature I’m really looking to explore and see how it compares with the standard ntp server I have in the network.
